The Hanoitimes – Hanoi People’s Committee directed that departments, relevant agencies, People’s Committees of districts and cities have implemented the National Policy on preventing the harmful effects of alcohol abuse. Previously, the Ministry of Health asked the People’s Committees of provinces and cities to set out investment plans , mobilize resources, allocate local budgets to implement the national policy on preventing and combating the harmful effects of alcohol abuse by 2020; and map out targets of prevention of harm of alcohol abuse into local socio-economic development plans. At the same time, the Ministry of Health also directed that local agencies, organizations and associations have monitored the implementation of the policy, the implementation of the provisions of the law on prevention of the harmful effects of alcohol abuse, especially alcohol use behaviors such as beer and other alcoholic beverages among the youth, and strengthened the management of production and trading of local businesses. The Ministry of Health has promoted information, education and communication to raise awareness of the public about the harmful effects of alcohol abuse, beer and other alcoholic beverages.
