Incredible drone footage has revealed the devastating carnage left behind after a monster storm ripped through the New South Wales east coast on Sunday. Sydney’s northern beaches were among the hardest hit and aerial images show chunks of Collaroy coast missing after front yards, swimming pools, gardens and balconies from beachfront properties collapsed into the ocean. Zaza Silk, from Collaroy, said she lost up to 15 metres of coastline, including her pool, after the 125km/h winds and 150 millimetres of rain battered her home like ‘an earthquake. ‘It was very [frightening]. I was shaking. You’d be standing in the garden, you’d see cracks coming in. And all of a sudden it would just be washed away,’ she told Sunrise on Monday. Beachfront residents have been asked to refrain from returning to their houses again on Monday as a second king tide around ‘1.3 metres above normal sea’ is expected to peak at 9pm.
