James David Dickson The Detroit News Published 3:14 p.m. UTC Aug 5, 2018 A man wearing a hockey mask shot and robbed a 52-year-old man early Sunday morning on Detroit’s east side, police said. The shooting took place about 12:30 a.m. on the 4000 block of Three Mile Drive, which is north of Mack and west of East Outer Drive. The victim had pulled into his garage and was getting out of his vehicle when he was approached by a young man — possibly 17 or 18 — who ordered the victim to give up everything he had. The suspect wore a red hoodie and a white hockey mask, and carried a 9 milimeter pistol. Police describe him as an African-American between 5-foot-11 to 6-feet tall, 200 pounds, with an afro, dark skin and a clean-shaven face. Rather than give up everything he had, the victim struggled with the gunman, and was shot twice, once in each leg. His cell phone was stolen during the fight. The suspect was last seen running between houses in the neighborhood.
