How to Easily Change the Case on Text in Microsoft Word

Did you type a line of text and then realize that it should have been capitalized differently? Instead of typing the line again, you can quickly and easily change the case of any text in Word without retyping it. To change the case on text in a Word document, select the text you want to change and make sure the Home tab is active. Then, click the “Change Case” button on the Home tab. Select the desired type of capitalization from the drop-down menu. The following types of capitalization are available: Sentence case: Capitalizes the first letter of the first word in a sentence. lowercase: Makes every letter lowercase. UPPERCASE: Makes every letter UPPERCASE. Capitalize Each Word: Capitalizes the first letter of every word. This is useful for titles or headings. tOGGLE cASE: This makes the first letter of every word lowercase and the rest of the letters UPPERCASE. How to Split Data Into Multiple Columns in Excel

If you start an Excel workbook by grouping data into the same cell and later decide to ungroup it, Excel has several easy functions that can split one spreadsheet column into two. Here’s how to use both “Text to Columns” and “Flash Fill.” How to Use “Text to Columns” in Excel Select the cells you want to split by clicking the first cell and dragging down to the last cell in the column. In our example, we’ll split the first and last names listed in column A into two different columns, column B (last name) and column C (first name.) How to Sort and Filter Data in Excel

Sorting and filtering data offers a way to cut through the noise and find (and sort) just the data you want to see. Microsoft Excel has no shortage of options to filter down huge datasets into just what’s needed. How to Sort Data in an Excel Spreadsheet In Excel, click inside the cell atop the column you want to sort. In our example, we’re going to click cell D3 and sort this column by salary. From the “Data” tab on top of the ribbon, click “Filter.” Atop each column, you’ll now see an arrow. Click the arrow of the column you wish to sort to bring up a menu that enables us to sort or filter the data.
