"The data that I've seen seems to indicate that it doesn't really increase giving; it just spreads it out a little instead of having all holiday and end-of-year giving happen in the last week of December," he says. "My belief is that Giving Tuesday doesn't address the core challenge in nonprofit fundraising — getting in front of a donor at the moment they care about and are motivated about the nonprofit's cause.
