In the U.S., you may hear capicola called gabagool or gobbagoal. Huh? Many Italian-Americans pronounce certain words – especially those related to food – with an accent that developed over the years as Italians with regional dialects immigrated to the U.S. In the case of capicola, certain Italian-Americans will pronounce the hard "c" as "g," the "p" as "b," the "o" as "ooh," and then drop the last vowel. For instance, in May 2017, a competitive eater who goes by the name LA Beast set a Guinness World Record for eating the most ghost peppers in two minutes — 13. Ghost peppers, for those of you that don't know, are some of the hottest in the world and rate 1 million per pepper on the Scoville heat scale (a scientific measure of how hot a pepper is). Veteran voice actors on capturing the voices of classic characters
Voice actors Dee Bradley Baker and Bob Bergen both experienced the daunting task of taking over the voices of classic Looney Tunes characters when they met on Space Jam. Since then, they’ve managed to completely embody the characters made famous by veteran voice actor Mel Blanc. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the pair took part in a panel for I Know That Voice, the 2013 documentary being developed into an episodic television series, with each installment focusing on a particular voice actor and exploring their creative process and career trajectory.
