In the past year, graphics cards have gone from the reasonably priced computer part you pick up on Amazon or Newegg to something bordering on as precious as gold. If you happen to find one being sold at its MSRP, you can easily snatch it up and sell it on Amazon for twice the price. The market has gotten so cutthroat in the face of a GPU shortage that vendors like Microcenter have limited the number of GPUs you can buy and will only sell at the original MSRP if you can prove you’re buying it for personal use. And into this fierce market enters AMD with a new CPU with an integrated graphics card so good you can leave the other GPUs to the cryptominers. Advertisement Today, AMD is launching two new APUs, or accelerated processing units, that are way cheaper than their Intel rivals but with performance that’s far better. APU, if you’re unfamiliar, is the AMD-coined term for a CPU with integrated graphics. APUs, and CPUs with integrated graphics, don’t need an … [Read more...] about AMD’s Newest Processors Are So Good You Can Skip the Graphics Card

We're excited for the new, compact 2015 Jeep Renegade. But, will it go off-road? We called up Jeep's chief engineer and asked. He gave us exclusive, never-before-seen specs and details. The Renegade is an all-new Jeep, based on the parent company's new "Small Wide" platform, also used by the Fiat 500L. It's scheduled to go on-sale this December. Advertisement We're excited about it because, as a subcompact or "B Segment" vehicle, it promises to provide the frugality and urban practicality of a small car with the adventure capability of, well…a Jeep. Living in a city — Los Angeles — a small car makes a ton of sense for me. I need good fuel economy, a car that's easy to park and, since I spend all my money on motorcycles and camping, a low price is a big help too. But, I also spend virtually every weekend out in the mountains or desert, so I need a car that can make it down a difficult dirt road that may be washed out, full of deep sand or covered in slippery … [Read more...] about Will The 2015 Jeep Renegade Be Any Good Off-Road?
In the original Beauty and the Beast, the reason everyone loves Gaston is basically because he’s “hot.” (I put that in quotes because a real-life person with those proportions would be TERRIFYING.) But Luke Evans says there’s more to the good-looking villain in the new live-action adaptation than what was on screen in 1991. Evans spoke toEW about his The fact of the story is that Gaston is a war hero and an army captain, and the only reason he’s got this celebrity status in Villeneuve is because when he was about 16, he protected the town from a pack of Portuguese marauders in 1740. Advertisement He’s basically been a local legend since he was 16. Yeah, that might explain some stuff. Evans went on to say that his first interpretation of Gaston was going to be much darker than the version the movie actually ended up using, as the character’s PTSD would form the basis of a lot of his actions. After Evans’ audition, the director … [Read more...] about There’s Actually a Reason to Like Gaston in the New
I will admit that my job requires me to watch all of the congressional hearings, all of the pundits rattling off reasons as to why the world and the economy aren’t going to collapse. I’m literally paid to watch members of Congress fumble over themselves to support one of the most corrupt presidencies America has ever seen. Despite being paid to watch these programs, what The Root doesn’t know is that I’d watch them for free. What the world has yet to realize is that congressional hearings, press conferences and cable news shows are truthfully the first reality television shows. Which is fitting considering that the president of the United States is a reality charlatan who has turned the White House into the Real White Housewives of D.C. Advertisement Pelosi has already gone full “don’t play with me” during a press conference shortly after announcing that the House will move forward with articles of impeachment. Next up, the House Judiciary … [Read more...] about 5 Reasons the Impeachment Hearings Were Must-See TV
On top of pending investigations into snake oil (literal oil) huckster Scott Pruitt’s myriad ethical breaches, Republican Congressperson and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy (SC) added further reasons to investigate the EPA administrator on Friday. The offenses are not like destroying the climate so hard that I probably won’t have babies–more like wasting exorbitant sums of taxpayer money on first class flights, but whatever! Whatever it takes to get rid of this man. Jaywalking, unpaid parking tickets, pee tape, I don’t care! Advertisement Gowdy has called for interviews with several high-level shady functionaries and requested travel documents from security chief Nino Perrotta who “egged on” the lavish expenditures, Politico reports. Gowdy also requested the itinerary and travel documents for Pruitt’s now-infamous Morocco trip during which he reportedly went to sell Morocco on American gas. On Wednesday, Gowdy had claimed that … [Read more...] about How Many Reasons to Love the Scott Pruitt Investigation? Let Me Count the Ever-Growing Ways
