I will be honest, I failed you. I was unable to find either a newer Volvo V60 Polestar that wasn’t $10,000 too expensive, nor could I find a Volvo V70R wagon that wasn’t $10,000 too cheap. But I believe that somewhere out there is a middle ground worth hunting for. I found this S60R in red with the coolest shifter of modern mass-produced performance cars for sale not far in Connecticut with pretty low miles for half your budget. I would scoop it up and raise hell in it, if it were me, though I think keeping an eye out for a good V70R isn’t a bad plan, either. … [Read more...] about I Need A Responsible Family Car With A Manual Transmission! When it comes to cars I have a short attention span. After 2.5 years, I am selling my 2011 A4 Avant (in Teak Metallic Brown). I purchased the Avant based on its looks and the uniqueness of the brown color. I am ready to move on to something with more performance. Although I love the silhouette of a wagon, I am in my 30s and without a child, so I do not need the space that it affords. I have driven the Tesla Model 3 and enjoyed it, but I don’t know that I’m really sold on the Tesla. Since I like to change things up I will probably lease something in the $40,000 to $50,000 range. … [Read more...] about I Have A Short Attention Span When It Comes To Cars! What Should I Buy?
But, my wife and I just welcomed twins into the family, bringing us to five with our first daughter. We went with the van for my wife’s primary vehicle but for me, I’d like to see something that can seat five in a pinch but is sporty, fun to drive, and won’t kill the college fund when it comes to maintaining it. Since I do my own work, cheap parts are a necessity, but finding that on a three kid budget has proven to be difficult. … [Read more...] about I’m A Sucker For Half-Broken And Unique Cars! I fly people around in private jets. As you can imagine, passengers arrive to the hangar in some shockingly nice vehicles, parking next to my taupe 2006 Toyota Corolla. Inevitably I get some good natured ribbing. My regular passengers drive lifted Shelby and Roush-tuned Ford pickups. There’s also a smattering of Ford Raptors, top-trim Lincoln Navigators, and maybe a Jeep or Land Rover. The problem is 1.) I only have $25-$30k to spend 2.) I have no real need for a truck or full-size SUV. Is there a vehicle I can show up with that will have some street-cred with these high-rollers? … [Read more...] about I Fly Private Jets And I Need A Car That Blends In With High Rollers For $30,000! Expert 1: Tom McParland — This Is My Jam When I see “I want a wagon and I have a lot of money to spend” that puts me in a happy place. While the wagon selection in America is slim, there are some solid choices. Of course, my gut wanted to tell you to get a used E63 AMG since they are available for a “reasonable” price since you need “something with power” but if I’m honest that’s probably a bit overkill. There is also the Volvo V90, but the real “wagon version” is factory order only, and I imagine with a recent accident you don’t have the time to wait. … [Read more...] about I Need A Family Friendly Car That’s Fast And Unique!
